John Allen Wright, 45, of Milton, Maine was indicted yesterday on six federal charges related to child sexual assault and pornography. Wright had been under investigation in New Hampshire for possession of child pornography and in Kittery, Maine for alleged rape of a disabled child believed to be about six years old. State law enforcement units and the FBI were involved in this case.
Wright was arrested September 1, 2011. Police found 10,000 pornograpic images on his computer, some of which were of children. He also had video tapes of actual sexual assaults on at least three children, one being the Kittery child and the other two from New Hampshire. He drove a bus for disabled students and was identified as the perpetrator of the assaults on the bus. The films were created with a special camera on his glasses, and were later mailed or shipped.

- Sexual exploitation of children for allegedly inducing a child to engage in “sexually explicit conduct,” producing a video and then mailing or shipping it, in violation of federal law–5 charges involving at least three children
- Having child pornography in general and shipping or transporting it–1 count
Maine charges
- Gross sexual assault (rape) against a 6-year-old child–2 counts
New Hampshire charges
- Possession of child pornography–1 count
- Dover, NH police are investigating possible assault against two children in their city
Police are asking for anyone with information about the cases, or who believe their children may have been victimized to contact them.

Bail has been set for Wright at $50,000. Since the federal charges have been issued, the state charges have been dropped. The arraignment hearing is set for October 12 in Concord, Maine.
